"Finish Line" by Melissa Schwab, Gold's Gym Participant

I’m finding it more and more difficult to keep my focus. I have a week to go and I can see the finish line. I’m ready to be done. It’s like the end of a big workout, the final few reps or the final quarter mile. You’re sweating, your muscles are burning, you’re tired and ready to be done. But you also know that it’s this last push that will make all the difference. You know that when you’re done you can enjoy the best part….the satisfaction of being done. That sense of accomplishment that you get from working out and pushing yourself. That “Yay, me!” moment. I know I have to keep pushing because it will be worth it in the end. The satisfaction of completing the challenge will be an amazing feeling. One more week to go and I can run through that finish line ribbon….in a swimsuit no less.

Hang in there as you will be so proud that you did. What you are about to accomplish is something special. You have done a great job and look great!! Kari was just telling me how great you are doing and how far you've come. Good for you! Be proud of what you have accomplished! You've earned it!

Hi Mellisa,
Great job! Before you cross that finish line, set some new goals that will bring you the energy to keep exercising.

Fitness isn't a destination. It is just an outcome from doing the things your body was designed to do and eating the things your body was designed to eat. In other words, doing the right things and eating the right things yields the result.

The trick is to do the workouts for the sake of the workout. Fitness will just happen and it will stay with you if you do.

My belief is in the workout itself. Not in fitness. The workout has served me well and fitness has just been a lifetime byproduct. What I mean is that it is the workout where I find solace, strength, a sense of achievement, and an understanding that "I" am in charge of "me." It was been that way for over 36 years and the workout has never failed me.

Think of this as you cross the finish line - you have demonstrated your own ability to take action in order to create positive change. If you can do that with yourself, you can do that anywhere. Use the workout to continue to provide that proof of your capability to be in charge of yourself.

Fitness will just be a happy outcome.

Thank you very much for all you have contributed to everyone.

Blair
