Congratulations to all of the Challenge winners, their families and everyone that participated. GO TEAM WENATCHEE!
I was able to get back in the gym this week, YEAH! With the Dr.’s advice, “go at your own pace, and listen to the pain.” My first day back was like a reunion of friends, it was nice to feel missed and great to see everyone and catch up! With my two new awesome work-out friends Teresa & Connie, we quickly got to working out. Oddly, lifting felt foreign to me and I had to rely on them to take me thru the work-out. Is it normal to feel like a beginner after such a short time away? I’m trying to be patient and let the effort come naturally, not to judge my progress so soon. I’d like to say “waiting without worrying is my new definition of having patience” but I still have some work to do on it.
With nine weeks before the “Tri,” my plan is simple- swim, bike and walk as much as I can. The three of us tried something new this week, our first spin class. We enjoyed it a lot and know we’ll be doing it again till I can get outside. I couldn’t stomp on it but I was content and happy to be slowly turn those pedals for 25 minutes and watching them go for it! I can’t wait to get outside on my bike. Does anyone have any favorite short rides with out a lot of traffic they’d like to share?
I have found the delight in movement and don’t ever want to be separated or lose my way again. Being active and eating healthy is who I am now, I’m so glad I participated the Gold’s Challenge!! Let the training begin!
