Q. “When was the last time you did something for the first time?”
For Me- obviously training for this race. It’s been a challenge for sure, pushing me farther than I’ve ever gone before. It’s already shown how hard it is to stay focused, but, with so many rewards thus far, how could I possibly stop now? Besides, I’m just getting started. The biggest reward was last week, watching our daughter learn how to ride her bike with her dad. Her motivation was “I want to ride like the other kids and with you guys! AND these training wheels are noisy!” She was so determined to ride on her own that night and she did! We were of course so happy and proud of her.
I had not put any thought into what I was showing her by me training and preparing for this race. But, it makes me believe that in some small way I’m inspiring her or showing her how to try. As her mother I couldn’t wish for anything more than to be her inspiration.
I’ll cherish these memories as a reminder of what motivation can accomplish and remind myself always keep a look out for the next challenge and not hesitate to participate. The unforeseen rewards are the best!
Have you signed up for the Gold’s Personal Performance Challenge?
Week #2 I missed a couple work-outs to be with family.
Walk: 7 miles
Bike: 46 miles
Swim: 45 min.
I came across this video while searching for training help. It got me totally jazzed for race day, can't wait to be on the starting line!
