One of my saddest memories as a 14 year old was watching my Grandpa die of liver cancer. Every Friday after school we would pack up and head to Spokane where we would visit him in the VA hospital knowing that he would not survive the horrible disease. One of my other memories about him was his extremely rare blood type. AB (Only 2-5% of the population share this blood type.)
In reading the book "Eat Right For Your Type" it is interesting to find that blood type AB as well as A have an overall higher rate of cancer and poorer odds of survival than type O or type B. Could my grandfather have been helped by knowing the information in this book? I will never know. Are there foods that you should avoid? Are there types of exercise more suited to certain blood types than others? Dr. D'Adamo answers these and other questions based on years of research as a noted naturopathic physician and lecturer.
This book clearly breaks down a plan with suggestions on what foods to eat, what foods to avoid, how to steer clear of common viruses and infection, whether you should do aerobic exercise or meditation for stress relief and much more all based on your specific blood type.
A fascinating read if you've ever wondered why 2 people could follow the same plan, 1 loses weight and the other does not.
One of our recent challenge winners recommended this book to me after losing more in a shorter time frame on this plan than any other she had tried.
I recommend buying not borrowing this one as you will want to have it handy as a reference manual. There is even a survey at the end where you can be part of the on-going research.
Enjoy!
